A heartwarming and empowering novel about thriving after tragedy, from the author of the “enchanting, hilarious, and insightful” (Patti Callahan Henry, New York Times author) My Magnolia Summer.

Violet Adams is the perfect, youngest child in a family of loud, passionate women on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. As the sweet, traditional one, she’s always been the steady hand in her family but after a sudden breakup and subsequent tragedy, she doesn’t know who she is anymore.

Aly Knox, Violet’s best friend, is a young influencer still struggling with the loss of her mother and adjusting to joining Violet in Southern living. With her best friend’s help, Violet is determined to break out of her shell—and who she thought she was—no matter what. And what better place to look for success, meaning, and possibly love than the Lowcountry of South Carolina?

Beautifully written. Reminded me of her mother but with her own style and spin on the story. Can’t wait of her next book!

The story

I enjoyed all of DBF’s books so when she passed, I was saddened - who would write the Charleston-area based stories like she did?
I was a little skeptical about listening to this book - I just knew I would like Victoria’s book as much as her mother’s. I am glad to say I was proven wrong. I really enjoyed the story and hope there will be more to come from VBF - I wouldn’t mind a little more on the characters in this book.
Narration was top notch.

Loved it!

This was a good book. Interesting and moving. I had to really focus on which character was talking and who they were. I think VBF has grown so much since her last book and look forward to her future books. She is her mother’s daughter!

Love the Low Country

The narrator's voice sounded intoxicated or something. I've listened to all of DBF and VBF and always wonderful, but this one got on my last nerve.

Great story, but horrible narrator.
