A typical day at the rehabilitation center turns into a nightmare for Emma Grady when her favorite physical-therapy patient vanishes in front of her, along with several colleagues. Fear turns to chaos as Emma begins the frantic race from Brooklyn to Queens, anxious to discover if her boyfriend is safe. Subways are closed, graves are open, and countless people have inexplicably disappeared. Mayhem erupts as terror grips the residents of New York City.

Was this a terrorist attack? An alien abduction? Or has evil been unleashed? What else could make so many vanish in a moment - not just in New York but all over the globe?

With so many people missing, Emma wonders if this is the predicted end of the world and begins a desperate search to discover the answers.

This unique book takes listeners on a riveting journey from New York City to Israel, and, in the final chapters, into the Bible, where it becomes clear that God has made known “the end from the beginning.” Through Scripture, listeners come to understand that things aren’t spiraling downward but are actually looking up.

I found this book to be more engaging than Left Behind by Jeffy Jenkins and Tim LeHay. The research is displayed with Afterward with extensive notes and references worthy of trained theologian. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Usually the author narration falls flat, but she is not bad.

Timely work upon the end time

The book makes you really think about what you would do if the end was to happen now. I learned many new things about the Bible that I had not heard before. I will be starting on my ARC of the second book and can’t wait to see what happens next.

The storyline is great, but I wish I had read the book rather than listened to it. The author really should have had an experienced narrator read the book. She lacks the versatility to narrate for the various characters in the book and it is difficult to tell which character is speaking at times. She has little inflection in her voice — and the SCREAMING at times is too much.
Bottom line … great book, great story, bad audiobook.

Story is GREAT — narrator is LACKING

Children left behind doesn't sit well with me at all. A 9 year old? Outside of that glaring problem it's not a bad story.
