In this classic work of Jewish mystical thought, Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz explores the major questions asked by modern Jews about the nature of existence. The Thirteen Petalled Rose addresses profound topics like Good and Evil, Divine Revelation, The Human Soul and the Search for Self, as it translates ancient kabbalistic concepts into an intelligible language for a new generation.

Steinsaltz does a beautiful job of describing Jewish teachings and values.

He is true to the mitzvot and classical thought, and he also brings to bear the chassidic as well as the more mystical views. He weaves them together to form a whole picture through the image of the thirteen petalled rose and other key ideas.

The listener, thus, gets the basics as well as a broader picture that encompasses all the various elements. Whether the listener is wanting a refresher or a short piece of these elements, he or she will leave the learning, I think, very satisfied.

So Worthwhile!
