When Gerta's friend Kay is stolen away by the mysterious Snow Queen, it's up to Gerta to find him.

Her journey will take her through a dangerous land of snow and witchcraft, accompanied only by a bandit and a talking raven. Can she win her friend's release, or will following her heart take her to unexpected places?

A strange, sly retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen by T. Kingfisher, author of Bryony and Roses and The Seventh Bride.

I just love T Kingfisher. There isn't filler, but the world she builds is so rich. I love how she plays with lore and morality tales and interpersonal relationships. Just a delightful read, and the narrator was great. I really felt immersed in this world throughout.

amazing characters and world building

A story that is more about the journey than the destination. It’s about how things change you. T Kingfisher’s writing is always full of wit and relatability. It’s also a story about finding yourself as part of the journey. I strongly recommend this book.

A tale of love and determination
