In the aftermath of Prince Rhun's death, King Owain and King Madog agreed their children should marry as a way to seal the peace between them. Two years later, the wedding date has finally arrived, though relations between the two kingdoms have improved only to the extent that they aren't actually at war.

So when an innocent falls victim to a poisoned dish, even Queen Cristina is so desperate for the event to take place that she begs Gareth and Gwen to head off another round of murder--and wedding mayhem--in medieval Wales.

The Prince's Man is the thirteenth Gareth & Gwen Medieval Mystery.

I have listened to so many of Sarah Woodruff's books narrated by Laurel Schroeder that it was very jarring to suddenly have Tom Mumford. Two things now that I finished #17: he sounds a lot better if you increase the speed to 1.2, and his own narration gets better as the books go on. I do enjoy hearing what I assume to be the proper Welsh pronunciation, although I always enjoyed Laurel Schroeder's narration, too.

Tha narrator changed in this book. It is taking a lot of time to get used to but I love this series

Narrator

Not a huge fan of this narrator. His cadence seems abnormally slow and drawn out at times

Love all of Sarah Woodbury's works, including this one.

Another entertaining adventure in medieval Wales! Gareth and Gwen and their extended family are loveable, believable characters I follow avidly. This story of an investigation into the death of a dog was interesting, funny, perilous, and tugged at the heartstrings. A few sections felt repetitive and could have been summarized or shortened. Something was off about the audio, and the only way I can describe it is that it sounds like the narration was deliberately slowed down after recording. It was also more challenging for me to keep up with the characters while listening versus reading also. However, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next one!

Enjoyable Mystery!

Through all the previous Gareth & Gwen novels I wanted a different narrator. Well I got my wish but not in a good way. This narration is so slow paced I thought I'd scream. His use of proper welsh pronunciation would be appealing if he didn't pause before every welsh word. I liked the story but can't listen to this guy again.

Liked the story, hated the narrator
