This book, with other similar books, has renewed my hope for balance and health. Dr. Hyman is clear and balanced in his recommendations for choosing a healthy life. He systematically lays ground work for making a difference in our daily lives and moves all the way up to making real changes in Global challenges.
I feel hopeful now that I have a pattern to follow for health that cuts through all the confusing, media driven, cash seeking "health science" out there. No more non-sense and fad diets.

I truly appreciate how you approach the whole food spectrum from personal choice to planetary well being. My husband and I have an organic farm (no dig) and we are growing as much of our own food as possible, including meat chickens and hens that lay eggs. Lots of fresh leafy greens and herbs, vegetables and fruits. Regenerative farming is the only thing that makes sense to us and we will continue to build our soil, nourish the earth and our animals organically, so they can nourish us, organically. Dr. Mark Hyman explains how food is medicine and what we can do to get back to eating healthy and how that will help improve our lives. Eating properly can have the same effects only better than todays medicines offer us for ailments that we are basically causing ourselves because of what “they” tell us is healthy and good for us. Read it for yourself and make your own decisions, I am going to change my diet and see how my body reacts to those changes after giving it some time to react to the new vitamin rich, whole foods that I am going to begin to prepare with my loved ones.

I have been a follower of Dr. Hyman for quite some time. This book covers all of the basics he discusses frequently in his podcast. So it might not be a necessary read for those of us who already follow these guidelines, but it is a must read for the majority of Americans who could use some help with their diet and nutrition.

Every American needs to read this.
