I have a scarred man who wants my help. Why won’t he take no for an answer? Now he’s sending weird gifts to my home. I don’t feel safe anymore.

Some scars never heal...

I know I’m lucky. I have a stunning Cheltenham apartment and a charming weekend cottage in Devon. Chris, my partner, is kind and supportive. He loves me in spite of my scars—the result of a childhood incident I don’t talk about. Most of all, I love my job, helping young women with eating disorders.

But I can’t help everyone, as I tell Kyle Stannard. Kyle was once a top male model—before he was left horrifically scarred in a random attack. Kyle thinks we’re the same, but I can’t help him with his problems. It’s not my field.

Then creepy things start to happen. A box of chocolates shows up—but it’s not from Chris. A beautiful mirror is delivered to my home, but I didn’t order it. Silent phone calls in the dead of night.

It must be Kyle. He’s completely obsessed.

But the police don’t believe me. So I take matters into my own hands. I need to uncover Kyle’s secrets. But the deeper I dig, the weirder it gets.

What if Kyle isn’t my stalker? What if the person who wants to destroy me lies much closer to home...

The Patient is an exhilarating blend of domestic suspense and nail-biting tension with a breathtaking twist. Perfect for fans of Patricia MacDonald, Lisa Jewell, Shalini Boland, T.M. Logan, and Clare Mackintosh.

This is a good story but has a lot of romance and intimacy. I prefer more crime/thriller but the narration was great!

Good story, great narration, too much romance for me.

I have read (via audiobooks) over 200 titles and leave a review of about 10%. I found this story to be extremely compelling and interesting, and I even slowed down the read pace a bit because I didn’t want it to end. I thought the writing was wonderful the narration excellent, and will definitely look for additional titles by this author.

Great story!!!

Not sure I’ll be able to finish this one. I like the length as hopeing for an interesting listen. So far, just long and boring. Narration has the ability to be good in another story. Lots of filler, overly descriptive words…maybe an attempt to making the story better. Really just a long listen that doesn’t take you away too much, which may be the most positive part of book - basically just background noise. If I make it to end of audio and have a change of mind, will edit review.

Keep waiting and waiting….

Oh my goodness. This book hadn't began long before I was having much buyer's remorse. Commitment to a purchase is why I held on. As someone who has studied psychology, this story line does not lead you on an adventure. I felt like at any moment "The Patient" was going to be the psychologist because this main character psychologist was not written with much knowledge of psychology. I feel that this story was poorly written and that the career choice for the main character was chosen after the story was written. Nothing about this book drew me in after it began except getting to the end. I do not recommend this book.

Psychological book without much true psych
