This book was short, definitely just scratched the surface. It did make me want to get some more books and learn more about the Appalachian folklore and ways. Definitely worth a read. 😉

Worth it

It's really a shame. It starts off useful but then she talks about a client who was made to share a bed with several older brothers who "experimented sexually" with her when she was a single digit age. OK this might be educational as a case study, but then... she actually tries to say ok that's bad but what were the "benefits"? There are no benefits to being molested by your brothers. For some reason I tried listening a little after that but couldn't take it seriously. The narrator is a little old fashioned but it could have been charming. But after trying to find the upside to incest she just sounded like the evil head mistress in a movie about evil boarding schools blaming the victim.

she tries to find a silver lining to incest

As someone from Appalachia- do not waste your money on this completely AI generated book. It speaks in generalizations and in circles. It throws the word “Appalachia” in but nothing in this book is remotely Appalachian.

Just Bad
