The Next by Mike Miracle was one heck of a fun story to listen to. Mike Miracle really provides some fun and interesting ideas for the listeners to think about as the story unwinds. I like to write spoiler free reviews and that is really hard to do with this story as it is fairly short. The publisher's description is really accurate about the story content. I highly recommend this story. For those worried that there is going to be an overt religious aspect of the book do not worry. Not that kind of book. Just a book about people, the choices they make in this life, and the choices that they need to keep making to move on. Get the audiobook It is good.

The narration by Elizabeth Phillips was excellent. Ms. Phillips did a great job with this cast of characters and the range of emotions needed in dealing with these events. This is the first performance that I have heard from her but I greatly enjoyed it and look for to hearing more of her work.

The premise is very interesting, the pacing fast,and the narrator very good. I hope Mike Miracle writes a sequel. I would like to know what happens to the characters.

I listened to this in one sitting. The story pulled me right in, and kept me listening with the twists, weirdness and interesting characters.
While I sit here trying to process what the story was about, I keep coming to the same conclusion - I have no flippin' idea ! lol
Afterlife? Karma? Murder mystery?
I'm really not sure, but I liked it! And want more!

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I wasn't really sure what I was getting in to when I requested this book. It was different. Very creative. I had no idea where it was going. I believe in a place between here and heaven and hell, so this story wasn't that much of a surprise, except, it was interesting that Malcolm and Jerry had a choice of their direction. The author made it very clear who was good and who was evil. The choice that Malcolm made was very interesting, but not a total surprise. The narrator did a good job with the characters and getting their personalities across as what, I believe, the author intended.

Mike Miracle's writing of The Next is very well done with good character development. Elizabeth Phillips' narration is spot on! This is a total guess on my part but I think The Next is really just a prelude to the real storyline. I suspect the the main characters in The Next are really there to establish the storyline and if the "real" main character is who I think it is, then Elizabeth Phillips was a brilliant choice for narrator.

This is one series that I will have to listen to the end. Well done Mike!
