Enjoyed the way the story weaves together, liked the description of characters and island. Never been to the Maldives but sounds amazing - a nice escape from reality to listen to

Easy listening

Entertaining and kept my attention. However, similar to another book she wrote. Similar in that the motivation is revenge of a wrong done some time ago in a school-adjacent setting. The death of a child/friend/sibling with the perpetrator(s) seemingly skipping away from the deed only to be killed in the end. They may or may not know why they died but the person(s) seeking revenge get(s) away with it.

The author is a very good writer. Very descriptive bringing to life the surroundings. The story goes back and forth through time with different characters taking over the narrative. You can see how the past impacts the present and sets up the story. Very enjoyable.

The first half of the book dwells on the resort, its promised activities, food preparation, and not much about the personalities of the characters. When the accidents and finally actual murders occur its too little too late, Heather Long is the only good thing about this audible book. Not sure I would recommend it at a sale price. I have listened to other Catherine Cooper audible books, This is the first one I really did not enjoy.

Boring travelogue disguised as a mystery

This was just boring and predictable. There was neither suspense nor mystery. By the time the opening prelude became even slightly revalent it was already forgotten. All the titles by this author are the same. A distant location, getting cutoff from the outside world and people being killed. That gets old very quickly.
