Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
When Darius Shaw, a security guard working the night shift, finds two bodies in the local recreation center pool, he calls 911, but he’s not the only one reporting drowning victims.
The operator has received multiple calls about dead people in the past thirty minutes.

Within hours, more than a dozen bodies are found in pools, bathtubs, and the lake—all showing signs of violence, such as bite marks and bruises.

Then Darius comes across a journal belonging to one of the victims, which contains startling information about a cold case from ten years ago. As he tries to investigate on his own, more people keep drowning by simply walking into the lake.

The police chief calls in the FBI for help, and they immediately lock down the town, effectively trapping everyone inside along with whatever is killing them. With the town under lockdown, people continue to drown, causing the authorities to question who—or what—is responsible for the deaths in Shadow Bay.

The Drowning offers a dark glimpse into Shadow Bay over twenty-four hours—when Hell came to visit.

This is my first book read by Jonas Saul. It kept me up most evenings as I didn't want to put it down. Jonas is very talented writer and I definitely recommend his books!

Awful narration. Mispronunciations abound. Consider paying an artist next time please. Very distracting to the storyline.
