Looking for a magical fantasy trilogy that will knock your socks off… HOLY MOLY !! Dominions: Stars and Shadows was one of those books that just sticks with you. The storyline is gripping, the stakes feel real, and the character development is so well done that you can’t help but get emotionally invested. Every chapter left me wanting more.

What really stood out to me was the deeper meaning woven beneath the surface. The subtle Christian themes, like hope in the middle of darkness, sacrificial love, and the idea of a greater purpose, added so much richness without ever feeling forced. It made the story feel more grounded and meaningful.

This is the kind of book that entertains you while also quietly speaking to your heart. I’ll definitely be thinking about it for a long time and would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy with depth and purpose.

I thought the first book had major action sequences, twists and turns, and superb character building, but this second book manages to take it up a notch! Wow, I felt like I could not rest until I finished listening! I quite literally cannot say too much, as the spoilers are numerous in Stars and Shadows, a lot of which follow unanswered questions from Ash and Embers. What I can say is that Asha and Anselem are probably my new favorite romantasy characters (and I have quite a few of those), and their love story really blossoms in this second book. Even so, the love story does not overshadow the main plot, which I really enjoy. Some of the new characters are also absolutely mesmerizing. I cannot wait to read the next book whenever it comes out!

The narrator was also fantastic! Her voice and careful pacing enhances every thrill, keeps you at the edge of your seat for every harrowing moment, gently unfolds the tender interactions between characters, and fiercely recounts battle sequences. She also has such a variety of voices and accents that I never questioned or got confused as to which character was speaking.
