I like books where I have to work a bit at figuring it out. This one I picked correctly. Still it's a great book with many twists and turns. Enjoyable read

Rennie Airth writes one of my favorite series, and I thought John Curless narrated the story perfectly. Maybe not the strongest mystery in the series, but I enjoyed it very much. Airth is such a good writer, and the characters are like old friends that I am happy to catch up with.

I am not certain about daughter Lucy's involvement in the case; she's a bit of a blabbermouth, but perhaps the author is preparing to have her enter the police force in the next installment. I sincerely hope there are more books to come in the series.

The author is truly gifted in crafting wonderful characters and complex story lines. The way different timelines are woven together without bogging the story down is brilliant. The narrator is wonderful. There are many different characters all easily distinguishable. Something that touches me about these stories is how Madden responses as a Father and a husband. It brings such depth to his character.
