Hard to believe this book was written during the cold war in the Soviet Union in the 70s. It is an offbeat, absurd and funny tale, very deadpan. Kept me guessing all the way to the end. A delightful book. I looked it up online, and apparently it has been made into a movie and also a game. Ha!

The story was ok, I would have appreciated knowing a bit sooner in the story what it was about, but it wasn't too bad. The narrator did a pretty good job.
