I enjoyed this series so much I’ve listened to it 3 times now! It keeps my interest and I love the personalities of the 5 main characters! Hoping for another series spinoff soon!

I enjoy a good deal and this series is a steal on Audible where you can get all three books for one credit. What makes it even better is that it is over 44 hours of audio. If you like longer listens then this may be a series that interests you. Since it is a trilogy I'm going to break my review down on each individual book in the series.

Book 1 introduces us to our female lead and main character Evelyn Maynard. For as long as she can remember she has been on the go with her mom. Every time they are able to settle down in a location, they turn around and leave to somewhere new. Her mom is always telling her they need to keep moving to ensure they bad people will not find them. Who are these people they are running from? Evelyn does not have a clue. When an unexpected flight turns into a disaster, Evelyn's world changes forever.

Evelyn has just got accepted to one of the best schools on scholarship. Her life is moving and she's just trying to survive it. She has never forgotten the guy who helped rescue her on that fateful day. What a small world that he's attending the same school are her. It is a plus that there just so happen to be so many sexy guys around her. Some who want her and others who are trying to avoid the bond they have.

In a world of humans versus variants, Evelyn fights for both sides. A surprise attack puts those she cares about a risk. Some are taken by the humans for reasons unknown to her.

Book 1 ends with the reader being able to see who is behind the attack and a small glimpse as to what may lie ahead in book two.

After over 44 hours I have finally finished the entire trilogy! The first two books had me hooked but let me tell you about book 3. There was so much action and big events that took place. At this point we know who Evelyn's biological dad is and that he's the reason they were on the run her whole life. He wants to use her light to take powers from one and give them to humans. Within the ranks of the group Alec and Tyler work for there is discourse. Traitors are among them so it is difficult to know whom to trust. There only option? To run.

Evelyn is being made to go on an adventure she never wanted. Even having to complete death defying stunts just to stay off her father's radar. They could have stay hidden forever but Evelyn knew that the world would get worse with him out there.

Friends reunited, love lost, and unexpected relationships are all found in book 3. The narrators are the same as the first two novels. Once again, I love the sound effects that the audio provides and it transports the reader further as if we are there with the characters.

This is a great series that I highly recommend if you like reverse harem, romance, and a bit of political and family strife.
Book two continues the adventure of Evelyn and her four sexy guys. Each could not be more different from the other. Alec has been her hardest (no pun intended) connection to make. For some reason he is resistant to complete the bond with her. While she still is hiding what she is from the world that does not last long.

The audiobook is read by Jarred Kjack and Janine Granda. They could not have picked a better pair. There are distinct voices for each character so they do not get confused. There are extra elements in the audio that help enhance the readers experience. For example, if the characters are in a tunnel then the narrators voice sounds like they are in a tunnel. If a character is using a microphone to speak, you can tell that is exactly what they are using as they read the parts. Absolutely love the effects that provide more realism for the reader.

I loved it I finished it within 5 days lol a lot of listening but it was worth it I love their relationship I think I liked Ethan most and josh but good story and wasn’t bored at all.

The female narrator NAILS it in every instance! The male narrator is actually quite talented, but some of the character’s voices and the delivery is a bit off-putting. The character “Tyler” sounds like he could be narrating a tutorial on excel formulas while others are totally on point. It kind of takes away from the swoony nature of her attraction to Tyler. “Kid” sounds like a surfer dude at times and lines that could be a seductive delivery sound like they are going to hit the waves.

The story is worth it even if the relationships are a very slow burn.

Don’t let the male narration at the beginning dissuade you from finishing.

The story is interesting and the performance from the narrators is wonderful. Maybe this is considered a young adult book series because the MC is young (18) and doesn’t seem to learn from her mistakes. So keep that in mind otherwise enjoy because the story is good.
