She's looking for the perfect man. He's looking for the perfect victim.

Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She's seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot.

Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet.

Then the brutal murder of a young woman―the latest in a string of deaths across the coast―confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

Sydney should feel safe. After all, she is dating the guy of her dreams. But she can't shake her own suspicions that the perfect man may not be as perfect as he seems. Because someone is watching her every move, and if she doesn't get to the truth, she'll be the killer's next victim…

Editorial Review

A perfect match or a perfect trap?
In this chilling thriller, readers are thrust into a heart-pounding narrative that explores the dark side of modern dating. Sydney Shaw, like many single women, has had her share of dating nightmares. But when she meets her new boyfriend—a handsome, successful doctor—things finally seem to be falling into place. The romance feels too good to be true, and as it turns out, it just might be. The backdrop of a serial killer stalking women adds a chilling dimension to the plot. The novel excels at tapping into universal fears about dating, particularly the vulnerability that comes with opening yourself up to someone new. The slow reveal of the killer’s identity is masterfully handled, with just enough red herrings to keep readers guessing until the final, heart-stopping twist. —Dawn G., Audible Editor

Good story but felt too eerily similar to the Dexter storyline and plot. That’s unfortunate.

Dexter ripoff?

The story is fabulous and the female narration is great, too. But the male narration is so awful I almost didn’t finish the book.

The male narrator ruins this book

Not up to the authors potential. Unexpected ending but not worth the read . Author can and is better

Character’s not believable. Not well developed

The guessing of “who is guilty”, as you read the book, will haunt you. In her usual (incredibly great) style, FM has the reader guessing until the end. And……. The end is left open for the sequel, if there is one. ❤️
I loved the book!

FM is a master story writer!!

The story had me interested within the first few minutes and definitely kept me on my toes. I was happily still surprised at the end. I’m glad that the payoff matched the rest of the book’s intrigue. This is like a TV romance thriller movie in a longer, audio only format and it was such a fun ride. It’s long enough to really get you into the story but short enough that it was never boring or dull. Very fun book.

Very fun listen!
