Blood has always flown easily for Ian Kelly.
He's spent a double life as part of a secret government program. Plucked from the foster care system at a young age for exhibiting a rare personality profile, he was trained to kill and then set loose on enemies of the free world.
These days, blood is thicker.
With two grown kids old enough to be asking too many questions, Ian travels the globe on official murder business.
But Ian tells himself just one more mission because world peace means someone has to kill the killers. His latest assignment has him sent to Dubai to investigate a wealthy playboy who the CIA thinks is dealing weapons. Back home, his son Brandon has taken his mother's murder investigation into his own hands. The police chalked it up to an incidental slaying from gangland crossfire. But there's something odd about the lack of news coverage and haphazard homicide report.
Ian is deep into his mission when he catches word of his son's sleuthing, putting him on a clock to eliminate his target and race home before Brandon follows a trail that could lead him to his father's true identity or, worse, the cartels.
Dexter meets The Gray Man in this pulse-pounding thriller, perfect for fans of Coben, Child, and Greaney.

This single dad assassin is away from home a lot, so his teenage kids are pretty much on their own. There's a lot to unpack there.
His son isn't satisfied with the police investigation of his mother's death so he takes it upon himself to do some sleuthing which only leads to trouble.
All kinds of stuff going on here! Ian in pulled in many directions and we begin to realize why his wife was really killed.
Engaging and thought provoking. I often wonder how close to the truth are these books involving "dark" government programs. I don't really want to know, if you know what I mean, but still this seems so plausible.
