Cabin fever can spark unexpected flames

This book is full of heart and holiday warmth. It’s also got some funny moments, and some truly swoony parts! The reader wasn’t my favorite. There were some mispronounced words that pulled me right out of the story. But I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the unique storyline. The perfect light read for the holiday season!

Listened to this audiobook as another shorter holiday read/listen. I actually kind of liked the idea of a holiday on my own. Not that I have issues with my family, I love the family time of holidays! However I do so many things on my own, including trips/vacations, I thought this sounded like something fun to do some day. Maybe later on in life when my family is (knock on wood it’s not soon) gone or off doing other things as my niece and nephew grow up. It would have been nice to maybe have a separate male narrator, but it worked out okay with the one narrator that I could enjoy it. Maggie had a lot of negative thoughts that at a certain point I was relieved when she finally stopped herself from thinking them. It was a bit annoying, even as I know that I do the same thing. Some bits were predictable, but overall it was a fun and sweet holiday romance, and quick to read as well!

This is a cute, lol, Christmas novella. It’s incredibly funny and I smiled and laughed my way through it. Yes, the romance is a little rushed and the ending quite cheesy, but I loved it.

The audiobook is great for those who enjoy listening.

Content:
There is no foul language, sex, or violence. The romance is limited to lightly descriptive kisses. The MCs share a cabin for a night, but nothing sexual happens. There is no mention of faith or God.

Nothing remarkable here, just a clean romance for two people forced into proximity at a remote lodge. The conflict is nearly non-existent, based upon some high school name calling.
Given that the book is 50/50 Wes versus Maggie’s POV, there really should have been two narrators.
