fantastic storyline, best character development and clever idea. but the sound effects take me out a bit. If it's here to stay I'll just get used to it but would be nice to have a version without.

don't skip out on this only for that reason though. you'd be missing out

not a fan of sound effects

I love this book. The story is wonderful. That said, I could not listen to it through this audio book. I ended up just reading the physical novel because everytime I would get immersed into the story with the audio, the narrator would try to make the sound effects and it ripped me out of the immersion.

amazing story, Sound effects ruined it.

good story, just had trouble listening to the narrator hes not bad I've just been spoiled with voice actors with extremely large ranges that are able to make every character come to life and sound unique or whole productions with multiple narrators for main characters

good story, I'm just spoiled

I’m not sure why people were complaining about the narrator, he did great! Yes, he voices all the sound effects, but those are written in the book so of course he does! It wouldn’t be an unabridged audiobook if he didn’t. (I find a lot of books in this genre are like that. It’s not as common in English based books but it’s not hard to get used to if you want to.) About the only thing I can say against him is his “girl hunter” screams are not great (kinda funny actually) but he only has to do that a couple of times for the whole book so not hard to ignore.
Of course the story itself is phenomenal as well.
Honestly this was totally worth the buy and I can’t wait for the next audiobook!!

Fantastic all around!

the book was amazing and the story is well written. The only issue I had with the book were the sound effect made by the narrator. unnecessary noises made it easy for me to want to stop listening. No need for someone to try to make the sound of a keyboard with their mouth.
I understand this narrator is new, and their voice acting is good for only doing 2 books at this time. all I can say to you is awesome work for starting out. good voice and great personality for the characters. the sound effects are the only issue. it peaks your microphone and feels like my ears will bleed when you make sword noises with your mouth.

great story, unnecessary sounds
