Two centuries after mankind drove itself to the brink of extinction, a new civilization rises from the ashes of what was once Great Britain. But when deadly strife breaks out among their ranks, the teenage son of one prominent family finds himself fleeing in the dead of night, only to wind up shipwrecked on the forbidden continent of America. Armed with only his wit and the most unexpected of allies, the teenager struggles to survive in a wasteland filled with unspeakable horrors. In the end, he must uncover the one secret that can either save his own people, or spell doom for mankind forever.

This book is about a possible future world. It does have a zombie type theme to it but doesn’t call the monsters zombies. The story is more about social classes and leadership. Over all it was a very good book but there were more than a few times I was wondering what the heck is going on and if I missed something. It will be interesting to see where the second book takes us. I would recommend this book if you like adventure stories

If you could sum up Robinson Crusoe 2244 in three words, what would they be?

Quite interesting idea at the beginning and at fist glance, but the way how the plot developed, I did not like..it was too unrealistic- it reminded me some Hollywood action blockbuster... I think that I will not buy the second sequel..

Interesting idea, but...

Would you listen to Robinson Crusoe 2244 again? Why?

I would happily give this book another listen. The story is great fun in a classic adventure kind of way, and the narrator does a great job of capturing and bringing to life the author's story and characters.

What other book might you compare Robinson Crusoe 2244 to and why?

For any one who enjoyed such classic stories as The Swiss Family Robinson, or The Count of Monte Cristo this is a well told modern story told in the same vein, but it also has strong elements of The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner.

What does Malk Williams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Williams has a delivers a great sense of excitement to his story that enhances the author's prose in such a way that I might not have interpreted in my head, also he does a very nice job of bringing the characters to life. That only adds to the listening enjoyment.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did actually miss my train to work because I was stuck in my car waiting to finish a particular chapter.

Any additional comments?

This is a fun adventure story in a grand old tradition of story tell, but with a nice modern touch that will appeal to readers from middle school up. Nice job on everyone's part.

A grand adventure

Yes, It was compelling. I loved seeing the story through the boy's eyes.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the honest voice the author was able to convey of the little boy struggling to understand a grown up world. My children were also compelled to hear what was going to happen next. E. J. Robinson's use of details painted an articulate picture of an oppressive world transformed.

Mark Williams gave an authenticity to the story. My children loved Mark's talented use of different voices.
