I'd never previous read Alison Gaylin, but I've been a fan of the Sunny Randall novels since the first one by Robert B. Parker. So, while I wasn't sure what to expect on one hand, on the other I was in familiar, highly enjoyable territory. I will say that Alison Gaylin did a wonderful job of capturing the spirit and style of the Parker/Lupica written novels and then some. I feel as though, in my opinion at least, Bad Influence might be in the ranks of some of the best work in the Parker universe as a whole. It's a very good story, well written, with a nice ending following a well drawn reveal. I highly recommend Bad Influence and I hope Alison Gaylin continues to write Sunny Randall in the future.
