Women are disappearing....
The supernatural community is in danger of being exposed to the human world.... Someone has to stop them....
Twenty-five year old Annie Bridges is totally unhappy with her mundane life. She has no romantic prospects, works in a dead-end job at a burger joint, and suffers excruciating migraines and blackouts. She also has an uncanny gift - or curse. She can read people's emotions. In one day, everything changes - her parentage, her job, her home, her car, her love life, and her destiny - as she is recruited into an elite security force staffed by some interesting characters, including Jared Remington, a handsome stranger who is mysteriously immune to her ability to read emotions.

Having said all of that I thought that it was a good listen. It has a different take on the supernatural. I liked the character development. I could have used a little more action.
I would be willing to the second book a try.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I listen to this book going into it with expectation simular to Monster Hunter and a story about fighting unknown creatures . The plot is more like a Nora Roberts romance novel of a 1/2 human /demon gene teenager who finally gets her freak on and makes it with a vampire for all sakes. The story takes little turns or twist to keep me entertained and about 1/2 way through the book I was thinking to just get a refund for this dull setting. It never made any sense on how a 300 years vampire came across as a love starved idot in the plot and it all goes bad from there and it ends in a fizzy plot with never no clear bad guy or end of the world plot.
I
