Parenting Is Hard and Then You Die provides a biblical and comprehensive strategy for raising healthy kids in a world that is morally bankrupt, spiritually desolate, and increasingly dangerous. That strategy is clear and specific, rooted in the Bible, proved successful, and communicated in a fun, entertaining way.

Dr. David Clarke has written many books on family. This book stands out for all of the following:

  • Extremely practical
  • Clarke's trademark humor
  • Gives good attention to the teen years
  • Strategies tested in his own home and by counseling clients

really terrible advice from top to bottom. Use this book if you value being a petulant, punitive, and immature parent.

shockingly devoid of empathy

This isn’t a parenting book, this is attempt at conversion to Christianity. Would not recommend.

One star

If you agree w his parenting philosophies / Biblical interpretations, this book might be for you.

It wasn’t for our family.

Entertaining but not inline with our Values or ideologies for what Christ-centered parenting should look like.

But the author has a right to speak his own truth. I just caution to readers that he refers to his truth as Gods truth which seems manipulative

This Read requires some serious discernment
