An officer is missing.
Jason and Vanessa must discover what happened to their colleague before it's too late.
This case is filled with secrets, some between partners, some inside the department, and Jason finds himself in the middle.
He's trying to sort it all out, and not screw up. People he cares about are counting on him, and he can't let them down.
Even if he has to take out One of their Own.

Continue the series
Nina was only in a few books up until this point, and not a well known character for me. However, going through what happened to Nina was disturbing, and made me feel helpless, total empathy! I thought the way the story was going was leading me to think of one ending, when in reality the plot twist turned everything upside down! It makes me wonder what I missed in the previous book though...
Narrator Review
James Killavey narrated book six, however he was not always the narrator in this series. James is one of six narrators for the series thus far! OK, now I've heard Rich McVicar, and Paul Heitsch, they were ok, and very good, but James, my word, he was not good. James comes off so clinical, and emotionally detached that his narration takes away from the story telling by A LOT! This book in particular is very intense and emotional, and dude, can you sound sad? Or pissed off? Give the characters something! I listened all the way through because the story is good, but I was struggling big time with James' vocal tone! On a happy thought, James would make a great voice over for a alien documentary special! No joke. He would be great for reciting information, like a report, but not story telling.
Could have done without the narrator change!

Would you consider the audio edition of One of Their Own to be better than the print version?
Yes...in the sense that I can listen on the go.What other book might you compare One of Their Own to and why?
The other five.Which character – as performed by James Killavey – was your favorite?
All of them. I think he is the best of the narrators for this series so far. Glad the author is keeping him. However some don't like him ... and in these politicized days have to go to extremes. "Horrible. The worse. Sad." Sigh.Any additional comments?
Decide for yourself about the narrator. That's what the samples there for.I disagree
