Ever since high school, I've always been one to follow the rules.

Get good grades. Obey my parents.

Don’t fall for the bad boy quarterback.

What can I say? He had bright blue eyes and a smile that could light up a room. And while everyone saw him as the future pro football star, I just saw him as Bryce.

He was my first love. My first kiss.

And the first one to break my heart.

But that's in the past. I've moved on. It was young love between two kids who didn't know how the world worked.

Now we're both grown up. I'm happy with my quiet life in our small town. He's setting records on the field and making headlines off of it.

Until one day, out of nowhere, Bryce Donald is back.

And he has his sights set on one thing—me.

I was over him. Or so I thought.

It's only then that I see past the façade of the playboy quarterback. I remember the boy I fell in love with, who's now a man wanting to make his life better. I see a man who's working to make good on wrongs of the past.

And when he kisses me? I realize that Bryce is more than my first love.

He's my forever.

But is it too late? Has too much damage been done?

Or is our story going to come down to the final play of the game?

It is great to be back in Chelle Sloan’s “Nashville Fury” world again for another terrific sports romance, an enthralling and emotionally moving second-chance romance. This third book in the series features Lucy Valenti and Bryce Donald, and their relationship began when she became his tutor in high school, and an unlikely friendship between the athlete and the mathlete developed before morphing into something more. The problem was Bryce could not give her more because his focus was his promising football career, and all else fell by the wayside, including Lucy. He makes it to the big leagues, but his life spirals out of control, and the team pulls him from the roster and places him on medical leave. Bryce seriously needs to work on himself and his mental health, and he goes back home. Finding out his first and only love, Lucy, had moved on was just another blow. Lucy was engaged, but she wasn’t feeling the love, but it is hard to fall in love with someone when your heart is with someone else. My heart broke for Lucy, for how her family treated her, and Bryce was no better, but thankfully her bestie was there for her. Lucy was always Bryce’s rock and sound of reason, and Lucy, being Lucy, was there for Bryce in his time of need. Holy moly, Chelle Sloan sure made these two work for their happily ever after, a bumpy road, but I loved how it all fell into place in the end. I enjoyed how their story was told, getting glimpses into their past that brought them to where they were in the present day. The cleverly plotted, multi-layered story had a perfect balance of drama, angst, some heartwarming and charming moments, profound emotions, and a slow-burn but so worth the wait romance. Chelle Sloan, thank you for another fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Duncan Prescott and Lessa Lamb's fabulous performance takes this already terrific story to another level. They embodied their characters completely, giving each a voice that was fitting to their personality. Lessa Lamb was a natural in Lucy’s role, showcasing her kind and caring soul, and Prescott did the same as Bryce and was just as wonderful in showcasing his personality and demeanor, including his inner turmoil. They were expressive in conveying all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. It is a pleasure to listen to these two entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you hooked the entire time

What a wonderful second chance book. I did like their story as each character had their own reason for doing things. I was not a huge fan of Bryce. He just seemed to become so self involved he forgot her. It was nice to see the growth of their characters. I would love to see their besties get together. Narration was well done. Leesa Lamb and Duncan Prescott portrayed their parts well.

This is the second book I've read/listened to by Chelle Sloan. This was totally opposite of the last book I listened to and was high drama. The beginning was great, but after that, I did't see why these two characters were so attracted/attached to one another. Especially since they were rarely together. I was interested enough to want to see how the HEA would work out!

Duncan Prescott and Lessa Lamb are excellent narrators and they gave us an emotional performance. They made it easy to keep listening. Great performances!

The narrators performed the book well. Both are great to listen to.

Book #3 Nashville Fury series

Lucy and Bryce are our MC's in this good listen. This is my second book by Chelle Sloan and I find that i enjoy the author's writing. I will continue this series and be looking for more from Chelle Sloan.

Bryce is on thin ice with his team and taking some forced time off to work on himself is in order. Lucy is a high school ex/friend of Bryce. These two go through so much in this story. Bryce is under a lot of pressure not wanting to let his family and support system down but failing to make his own happiness a priority. Lucy is currently engaged to another man who does not excite her the same way Bryce did/does. *there is NO cheating in this book * The book is about second chances and finding love again.

I enjoyed the book overall. It was hard to see Bryce let Lucy down so much but they have amazing side characters that give so much support and things really come together in the end. I loved Lucy, she had such deep love and compassion for Bryce even when he kept messing up.

Overall, this is a good book. Well written and performed.

The first 50% of this book tugged at my heartstrings, hard! Bryce and Lucy are so clearly hung up on each other still and Lucy is engaged to another man. I am so happy that engagement ended the way that it did, but good grief, there was so much angst leading up to it, I was legit sad for them. Such a tough and impossible situation to be in and when you have so many outside influences it makes it that much more difficult! Bryce and Lucy are so dang cute together! They have so much fun and their chemistry is off the charts.

The 3rd act made me so sad for Lucy, Bryce messed up big time and Lucy was not having it. I loved how strong she was for herself and her boundaries. Brenna was such a great friend to her, and I loved how she called her brother out and never wavered in her support of lucy. The makeup left something to be desired. Lucy gave in two easy in my opinion, and I have zero faith in Bryce and his ability to keep his promises.

This book is narrated by Lessa Lamb and Duncan Prescott. They did a good job narrating these characters and I enjoyed listening to them.

It’s always been you!
