Insightful book - too much though - needs to be read, digested, internalized and reread. Very insightful - sometimes a bit too wordy - but worthwhile.

I reallystruggled to enjoy this book, it's not invigorating. I found it to be way too long.

I enjoyed watching how impactful social interactions can be and how the main character finds community. it was fun to listen to the Portuguese words spoken. It's a unique language.

If you enjoy exploring the inner workings of human thought, expression and intimacy you will love this book. Set in Bern, Switzerland and Lisbon, Portugal one solitary man’s sudden departure into a new and unknown life touches many and opens new ways of seeing and feeling. It is a deep and moving experience filled with philosophical and literary references that enrich the text. I loved it and will no doubt return to it many times.
