He hates everything about her.
She despises him even more.
So why is his heart so determined to belong to her?

Once trapped by marriage to a woman he loathed, Fitzwilliam Darcy is finally free again. Resentful, bewildered, and angry, he is eager to begin his life over - preferably with a woman who is the exact opposite of his wife.

He never imagined a short stay in Hertfordshire would bring him face to face with his worst nightmare; a woman similar in face, form, and name. He certainly never expected her to be so impossible to ignore.

Torn between what he believes he wants and what his heart cannot live without, his dignity begins to unravel. Will his desperation to escape his past drive a wedge into his closest friendship and destroy any hope of a future?

Will Miss Elizabeth Bennet prove to be as nefarious as his wife? Or, will the last woman in the world be his only chance at happiness?

I adore Harry Frost as a narrator!!! He contributed so much to my enjoyment of this story! He gets 10 stars out of 5!

4.5 rounded up to a 5 for the story. This book was such a delight! I love stories from Darcy's perspective, but this one is very fun and unique. Instead of the reserved, but impeccably mannered Mr. Darcy, we get the raw and embittered Darcy who has had enough of the rewards of living up to society's dictates and expectations. He has always let his overdeveloped sense of honor and duty govern his choices and it has brought him nothing but trouble and grief, more than even he realizes when we begin this journey with him. Those choices led him into a miserable marriage and highly undesirable in-laws where he never even pretended to grieve or regret the loss of his wife, Elizabeth Benedict. What's in a name?- in this story, quite a bit as his very reaction to a different, but similarly named Elizabeth is all based on his former nemesis of a wife and he sure does make a mess of things! I found myself laughing out loud at many of his unguarded thoughts, comments and behavior and cringing for him at other times. I really enjoyed seeing his development start from a very different place and the change process that he goes through. Just when you think things can't get any worse, there's a new twist that will have you on pins and needles. The satisfaction of a HEA did finally come, and it was really worth the wait! A must read for Darcy fans!!!

If you are looking for a different plot with your favorite P&P JAFF canon characters, then give this variation a try.

Oh. This Darcy is not your copy and paste Darcy at all, and that’s a good thing. Elizabeth? Well she goes barb for barb.

And just when you thought the HEA was within reach, a major subplot rears its head.

This one is worth a listen. The narration is excellent as always.

A Different Kind of Darcy

I liked those book very much, though I found Darcy difficult to like for much of the book. This fits the plot, of course, but the extreme bitterness was wearing on me. I will read more of this author’s works. Harry Stone is terrific, as always!

Complex, Interesting Story

I forgot to review this when I listened but I remember I really enjoyed it! The story was a new premise on a very popular genre and the dialog was memorable - even months later! One of my favorite of Nicole Clarkston's books
