Winnie Cooper runs Herb & Hive Cafe, inherited from eccentric Aunt May along with mysterious botanical notebooks and a Jack Russell named Cookie who steals scones, opens cabinets, and is full of surprises. She shares a wall with the grumpy butcher next door, Hunter Reardon. Cookie adores him. Convenient, since he spends more and more time at the cafe.

Winnie's buddy Brenda gets blamed for murder, and Winnie must help her navigate gossip like nasty nettles.

A wife without tears (unless there’s a witness.) A colleague who may seems too close for comfort. A landscaper living lavishly. A bashful baker. And a polished professional poking her perfectly powdered nose into everything.

Winnie has Aunt May's notebooks, bookshop bestie Kit, herbalist pal Hazel, beekeeper buddy Melissa, and ten pounds of trouble with paws.

Blossoms, bees, and blackmail. Sourdough and suspects. Someone served murder between the canapes and cocktails. They're watching Winnie dig through the clues. And the last person who dug too deep ended up at the bottom of a pond.

The larkspur flowers are blooming at the lodge. So is murder.
