“Deviously intelligent...Irresistible.” The New York Times Book Review Murder Bimbo is Gone Girl for the Luigi Mangione era.” —Catherine Lacey, author of Biography of X

The exhilaratingly twisty story of a sex worker turned political assassin on the run, Murder Bimbo is an unputdownable and wholly fresh take on truth, murder, and optics in our national moment.

A thirty-two-year-old sex worker is shocked when she’s approached by undercover government agents to aid them in a top-secret plot to assassinate a politician known as Meat Neck. But once the deed is done, she realizes what made her the perfect recruit: She’s 100% disposable.

Holed up in an off-the-grid cabin in the woods, she now has only two days, her wits, and a laptop to save her own life.

Her best bet is to reach out to the wildly popular feminist investigative podcast Justice for Bimbos. In a hastily typed series of emails, the newly minted “Murder Bimbo” explains how she was recruited and then trained by a cabal of code-named US agents to take out Meat Neck.

Then she opens a new email. This time, it’s addressed to her ex, and the facts line up a little differently…

Constructed in three increasingly unhinged acts, each a more subversive version of the story than the last, Murder Bimbo can be read as a gloriously bold literary thriller, a satirical vigilante's manifesto, or a raucous send-up of the political insanity we all live inside every day. Either way, it’s a dead-serious announcement of an electric new voice in American literature.

Listened to this with my wife and the style/ narrative was very different and extremely entertaining. Top that off with a wonderfully paced thriller that had us guessing all along the way.
We loved the ending which is reminiscent of another classic novel. (I won’t say which and spoil the fun)
To cap it off the narration was top notch.
Highly recommended.

Wonderfully Different

In a time we romance novels abound this story recounts the intricacies of one women’s messy journey through love, politics, charm and power. There are twist and turns you’ll never expect. The narration adds the perfect level of banal ennui to make the story click!

A Nonlinear Messy Story of Self Love

It sucked me in, then almost lost me, then sucked me back in again. This review may contain spoilers.

I was expecting/hoping for a sympathetic character in a satirical thriller. I did not manage my expectations correctly. The main character is a total narcissist and she only gets worse as the book progresses. Act two, where she’s writing about manipulating her ex, drags and is irritating. Act three pulls it all together, but by that time I despised her. There are fewer laugh out loud moments than I’d hoped for, but there were some good ones.

The readers tone is breezy and flip, which is disappointing, but perhaps appropriate for this character. This is a me problem, not a her problem.

Smart story but …

I really loved the idea and the dark humor but wish the twists were described with more clarity. I felt unsure for half of the book. Definitely worth the read.

Really fun but a bit confusing.

Version upon version piles up and one feels less engagement with the character and story.
