Silas Stone is the lead singer of Blood & Honey, a man who lives for the roar of the crowd and the heat of the stage. As the front man of a duo rock-act in the city of Chi-Tek, alongside childhood friend Ruby Martin, his magic is mostly a gimmick. A way to flash some lightning and keep the groupies coming. It’s a simple life until the portals return and monsters tear through the stadium, turning a sold-out show into a bloodbath and feeding ground.
In the middle of the chaos, Silas discovers he is more than just a well-trained combat mage. He is a descendant of the Raiju.
A rare breed who fuel their magic with Champion Energy, and in a world where public perception is power, his fame is no longer just for his ego. It is a literal battery for his magic.
Rivalries with the elitist Brightfeather Institute flare up and monster incursions threaten to destroy the city, but Silas doesn't have to solve it all on his own. Armed with dual tantos and a voice that can shatter armor and bone, he has the lethal ice-mage Ruby, the brilliant tech-mage Lyla, and the charismatic wolf-girl streamer KK at his back. Who else can you trust but your tribe as the world falls apart?
The show must go on, and Silas Stone is ready to give them an encore they’ll never forget.

This world's apocalypse trial edition ended without the full purchase package, so they were given time to prepare for it to return.

One fateful day, the portals to other worlds return and monsters begin to spew out once again. time has past, and the champions from the last invasion have passed on, leaving a new generation to repel the monsters and save the world.
Our Main Character Silas and life long friend Ruby have studied the ways of magic, and to earn some income and more importantly Fame, the created the Magical band of Blood and Honey.
They have secrets they must uncover, and new friends to make in order to become the heroes the world needs.

This is, however, my first experience with Orion Vance but from what I can find I believe this is the first major release he's been involved with, it's also a first with this narrator duo and in my opinion they did a fantastic job.
I've got to say, when I read the blurb for this one I was immediately intrigued since the MC being the frontman of a band is a rather novel concept from what I've seen and it definitely offers a breath of fresh air from the most common story beats and tropes of the genre.
The characters, story, and spice are well written, and the ending definitely has me looking forward to the next book.
The only mild criticisms I have are based purely on personal taste and are by no means objective, and story/character wise both make sense, I personally didn't really feel a connection with the second LI and the introduction/incorporation of the third LI felt rushed and the situation didn't really fit my tastes though in context it does make sense.
Overall I consider this to be a very good story with some fresh/uncommon ideas being injected into a rather well established and defined genre and definitely one I recommend for fans of the genre to give a try.
