This third book in the Heart Resort series is probably the most relatable to me with its recently-retired veteran hero and Fil-Am heroine.

I like it overall although I thought the hero read younger than 40.

While I enjoyed the storyline, I found the identification of racial/ethnic background of every character off putting. I love a good multicultural novel, but the identification of each character,rather that allowing me to use my imagination or identification via words, characterizations or physical attributes, took me outside the story each time it occurred.

I've listened to a few of Ms. Marcelo's books and this one is my favorite. I love the family interactions. The give and take. The ability to fight or disagree but still be there for each other. And I really loved the ending.

I liked this book because it was real and relatable. It’s the perfect story if you are empathetic. If you don’t know what I mean, you should take a class on emotional intelligence. I chose this book because I wanted to listen to a believable love story and it delivered.
