Holy hell, I knew I would like the book(being taboo is one of my favorite books) but this went above and beyond liking the book. Normally I just listen while driving. Well with this book, I found myself putting in headphones just to listen. I couldn’t get enough of September and Jesse’s story. Oh and Scout, I just love her. 🤗 She is my kind of girl.
This was an all consuming type of story. It drew me in immediately. I was laughing out loud, angry, frustrated, sad, and much more 😉. I loved the pace of the story and the sexual tension between the two. 🫦 Something about Jesse’s voice 🤤. His slight country accent, yes please!
I immediately purchased the second book in the series. I had to know what happened. I will continue to read from this author. I love the way she writes and just immerses you into the book.

Although this book falls under a "taboo" storyline, the way in which it was written totally negates that trope. It is brilliant how the growth of September from a somewhat conniving little vixen, at the start, to a woman beyond her years at the end draws the reader/listener into the story so that I felt invested in their relationship. On to Book 2!
Noelle Bridges and Alexander Cendese were brilliant in their roles!

"Loving Jesse" is definitely not your typical romance trope. However, the plot lends itself to acceptance when you understand the dynamics of the characters and back story. September Dawson is the stepdaughter of Jesse Ryan. When her mother takes off when September is 10 years old, she's sent to live with her maternal grandparents. Fast forward 7 years later. September is getting ready to turn 18 when she shows back up in Jesse's life, to help care for her younger half-sister in another state. The slow-burn of their love is fascinating, and there's n no creep factor in how the relationship develops. The narration team did an exceptional job in portraying all of the characters and the listener can actually feel the emotions, struggles, and misunderstandings that develop. Steamy, romantic and suspenseful!

Though I love this authors stories, this book was too taboo for me. Not saying that it wasn't a good story, it was! The FMC was just too much for me and the lengths she went to just for Jesse bothered me. Again, this would definitely be the RIGHT story for some. Just not me😢
