Lovely Lies follows the life of Beth as she is unknowingly pulled into a sex trafficking ring by a kindly appearing gentleman bursting with gifts and compliments. Lies and more lies plus doctored brownies keep her in a confused state for days. Liked the story was spun around a very real and sad issue faced by many teens and children in the U.S. and around the world. Enjoyed the ending but will not spoil it for you. A doggie in the story is always a big plus for me! I liked that the main character, a young woman, grew in strength and confidence while being supported by her family and friends—and that she healed and went on to create awareness and help other young women. Interesting additional information about the prevalence of sexual trafficking and how it works at the end of the book. Great audible listen!!!

Once again Galand Nuchols, shines as she has delicately written a compelling insightful story about teen sex trafficking. She brings to life how easy it is to targeted as a victim, the psychological impact and the deceit used entering into a web of lies. Garland, also enforces the importance of family and friends while they form a bond risking their lives as they enter the dangerous criminal world where they hope to seek revenge and justice.
The story is expertly narrated by Jim Carmody, who skillfully lends his unique voice to bring each character to life through emotion and empathy.
I highly recommend listening to this audiobook.

This is a well written story full of suspense and drama. I didn’t feel the narration did the book justice and would have preferred to have read it instead. The author researched the topic and brought believable characters to life. Well done.

This book gave me a new perspective on how innocent individuals can get entangled in sex trafficking. The ending gave me much to ponder on the repercussions of being rescued and trying to live a “normal “ life.
