The clock is ticking for Earth, and in more ways than one. Dangerous monsters are pouring out of the Labyrinth, dimensional events scour resources from the land, and beneath it all, demonic plots begin to bear fruit. Facing all this as a succubus wasn’t Jade’s first choice, it didn’t even make the list, but that ship has sailed. If she wants to save the world, she’ll have to leverage every advantage: Shape changing, seductive charm, and all the bonuses that come from wearing embarrassingly revealing armor.

Fortunately, Jade isn’t alone in this fight. New companions continue to join her as subtle signs point to a sinister force manipulating events behind the scenes. In their quest for answers, Jade and her friends may find more than they bargained for…

So, I'm curious... I wonder why the author wanted to make the MC a succubus, she is embarrassed by literally everything. Anyway, book is good, not amazing. Jade is cool but aloof. Narrator is amazing but she does that thing where the end of every statement ends with a pronounced "-ahh". I can't help but hear it. I also hate the extensive use of cliffhangers and dramatic pause in both conversations and in the story.

Good Story Bro

first, the narrator seemingly doesn't know how to pronounce some words, and it's grating every time I hear it, especially from a supposed professional. The best example of this is "anathema", which she pronounces as anna-thee-muh, instead of uh-na-thi-muh (I'm not the best at writing phonetics, but you get the idea). There are a lot more similar instances of words she seemingly doesn't know, and it baffles me that nobody caught any of them.

now, for the header

spoilers, but after listening to the scene that other person was talking about, I have to wonder if they were even paying attention. Yeah, she charmed the BBEG who was fighting her, but she only questioned them, because THE MC WAS LITERALLY STILL TIED UP WITH MAGICAL ROPE. She quite literally couldn't do anything to a much more powerful entity, because they were going to break through the charm too quickly anyways, and the MC was completely immobilized, which, might I remind you, was the entire reason her spell was powerful enough to even work at all, with her dommy mommy talent. Hence why I generally don't trust reviews all that much.

In any case, the book so far is good imo. No worries about adult content really, as everything is either fade to black, or just insinuations, but like, obviously she's still a succubus, so there's a lot of insinuations. The story gets more interesting, as there's a lot more travel and interaction with other characters. My only real complaint is that the author gives too much information to the reader from the perspective of other people on different levels of the labyrinth, but that's more of a personal complaint.

I like it, and if you enjoyed the first book, you'll most likely enjoy this one. I think it's better, at least by a little bit. It may not necessarily be an amazing book, but I enjoyed it.

So this book was meh to me. I like how Jade uses more of her powers that was fun. But what was infuriating and this is more just a pet peeve as her always pushing off her stats or update I just hate that so much. And then there was like two or three times. Where she comes across a piece of information and then just doesn’t say anything for a good two or three minutes to build up suspense where it’s like. once is fine, but if you do it multiple times in a row, it’s just annoying.

Exercising procrastination

The narrator was good. The story is lacking sense. First off, the labyrinth doesn't like armies, but over powered people like Malice can kill or oppress lower level people without penalties. Second, Naomi is a useless character, I didn't like her in the first book. I gave the series a chance and tried the second book and every time Naomi talks it ruins the book more. First off, she's trapped in a strange world by herself and she picks a support class, using a guitar. Without knowing if she will have someone to protect her. And then she complains about how she's dressed as a side irritation. When the party agrees there is no time to get help to stop the demons and to fo after them, Naomi convinces the party to only go and look to see what the demons are up to. Kill off Naomi, the series would be better.

Can't do it any more!
