This is the 8th book in the Charlie Cooper series and this book as well as the next couple of books are more like novellas or short stories. That also means that they are extremely easy to read or listen to and are fun and compelling as they immediately pull you into the story.
This book follows Charlie as he is given an assignment on a target to take care of. At the same time, there is a bad guy out there that gets his thrills from taking out people that he feels are a threat to him - professionally. Yep, not a physical threat but people that are corporate competitors. It just so happens that he gets his kicks from the fact that no one would ever think someone like him would EVER be responsible for ANY type of killings.
Unfortunately, the more he goes down that path, the less it satiates him and he decides he needs something MORE to reach that level of adrenaline. He decides the next time, he is going to not only take out his rival, this time he is going to frame someone else for the crime - therefore taking out two birds with one stone. Unfortunately, the person he sets out to frame is Charlie Cooper.
It was fun riding along as Charlie goes after the person that tried to set him up. Charlie is not only a capable assassin, he is also a brilliant mystery solver so he immediately starts to investigate and go backwards up the chain in order to find out who the culprit is.
Another action-packed story that is narrated by David Thorpe who is the voice of the series and who does his usual fantastic job.
