Let the Goddess Dance was titled "Drumming the Spirit to Life" when published by Llewellyn Worldwide in 2000. One of the first books about drumming in our modern culture as a meditation and sacred tool for healing and dance.

This book was interesting and i loved it, however i would really prefer it if he would do an entire program on how to play specific rhythms in specific time signatures. There is some of that here, but it is not for the absolute beginner. There's nothing about rhythmic languages such as "takidemi" or "konnakol" and this left me disappointed because no one offers such material on audible or in audiobook format that i am aware of.
Otherwise, this is excellent and it shares a lot in common with Victor Wooten's "the music lesson" (also on audible) - which is also a great book in the same way that this one is, but does lack a lot of detail for the absolute beginner. I benefitted greatly because of my music theory knowledge, but for most people who don't have that knowledge, it might just seem like fluff.
Great works, but i would like them to be a bit more grounded and down to earth in how to actually count out the rhythems, which isn't my strong area. if this book included more on that, i would have called it "priceless." Regardless, what's here is still solid gold.
Best book about rhythm ever.
