Une nuit de novembre, à Paris, Jean-Baptiste Clamence, traversant un pont sur la Seine, entend le cri d’une femme qu’il vient de croiser. Celle-ci s’est jetée dans le fleuve et se noie. François Berland est le lecteur de ce long et admirable monologue. Il est Jean-Baptiste Clamence, ancien avocat de renom qui se livre à une confession sous forme de prise de conscience. Une lecture sobre et poignante.
