I have also been OK giving public speeches. Having had worked in corporate for 20+ years and given over 100's of presentations in small settings like leadership meetings with 5-10 to annual conferences where there are 300+ people I have a lot of experience getting in front of an audience - BUT I am always looking for new ways to be more engaging in my deliver and more confident in my tone. This book was amazing with so many helpful tips I can start using immediately. So whether you are a seasoned public speaker like myself, or new to the game - this book can show you how to WOW your audience.

This is a very nice book. I especially liked the chapter about giving the audience what they want. I found the information there very useful and practical, and I plan to use the tips mentioned there the next time I need to do a presentation. I was surprised to hear the concept of “voluntariness” and how sometimes audiences don’t have a choice in deciding to listen to a talk or presentation. I never thought of that, now I see that I assumed that everyone wanted (or needed) to hear my talk. It was a wakeup call and from now on I will be more aware of that important detail when preparing to talk in public. Also, the information about the different types of audiences was very nice. After listening to this audiobook I see that it wasn't a lack of preparation in knowing the material that I was presenting that caused me to be nervous when talking to audiences, but it was not spending enough time to get to know my audience and adapting my message to make it more appealing to them. I highly recommend this book because the information is very practical.
