I think the author just ran out of interest and ideas at the end of the story. The ending is very abrupt. Everything is wrapped up in a neat little unbelievable bow and it just doesn’t make sense.

The overall performance was good. I listened at a faster speed than I usually do because the pace of the story was slow. The narrators voices seemed well matched to the characters. I felt like the ending was unfinished, left too open ended. It just didn’t seem like a satisfactory way to end a story. Kind of like if a romance ended without a HEA.

I've definitely read too many Trad Wife books lately. This one kept me engaged, until the end, which was anticlimactic to say the least. I couldn't believe it. The way it ended made an entire character arch unnecessary. I blame editing.

It was great until it wasn't.
