Things seem to be almost improving, but you can’t let the smooth taste fool you.
Too much improvement makes you expect things to be easier. They aren’t. Not everyone wants things to get better. Some people seem to be enjoying themselves a little too much.
Now, it’s time to try and bring some order from the chaos. To return things to a more civilized society. The world fell apart two years ago and now it’s time to try and put it back together, one small piece at the time.
Not all is well even among the Farm personnel. Fatigue and exhaustion are taking their toll on everyone, and sooner or later, that will cause problems no one wants or is ready for. As attitudes flare and patience crumbles, a tragedy is found and a relationship unravels.
Maybe there will be a cooling off period, because the Heat is definitely on.

My biggest criticism is the decision to change narrators. After fourteen books with the same narrator, readers become attached not only to the characters but also to the voice telling the story. That narrator becomes part of the identity of the series. Switching narrators this late in the game was jarring and made the book feel disconnected from everything that came before it.
The new narrator may be talented, but the change completely altered the tone, pacing, and personality of the story. Characters did not sound the way longtime readers have come to expect, and the overall experience felt like listening to a different series altogether. For many fans, the original narrator was as important to the experience as the author.
Overall, the book was not bad. The writing quality was still there, and some moments reminded me why I enjoy this series. However, after waiting so long, I expected a full novel with meaningful progression, memorable action, and the familiar voice that carried the previous fourteen books. Instead, I finished feeling disappointed and wishing there had been more story and a return to the narrator who helped make the series what it is.
Its a short story
