Some dreams are worth waiting for.

When the proud, reserved Mr. Darcy arrives in Hertfordshire, he brings more than his considerable fortune and consequence. He brings Atlas—a gentle, aging gelding who once taught Darcy himself to ride. And in Elizabeth Bennet’s wistful longing, he recognizes something he cannot ignore.

What begins as riding lessons becomes something far more precious. As Elizabeth learns the joy of the saddle, Darcy discovers the woman who has captured his heart. When Atlas is stolen and his life hangs in the balance, Elizabeth and Darcy must fight to save not only the horse, but the future they’re only beginning to imagine.

A heartwarming Regency romance about celebrating second chances, quiet strength, patient devotion, and the dreams we never quite forget. Featuring a four-legged hero with the patience to bring two stubborn hearts together.

I love each and every one of her stories and was so excited to see when this was released, and I borrowed it immediately on KU. This is one I will absolutely be purchasing.

In the beginning, we learn that Elizabeth is obsessed with horses. Her parents do not and will not have riding horses. It is years later that she finds out why. At Netherfield, Elizabeth starts to see a different side of Darcy, especially when he is around his horse. Darcy sets a plan in motion to bring one of his most beloved horses from town to teach her how to ride. We get to spend time with Georgiana and Col Fitzwilliam, but then Wickham rears his ugly head. For those who might need the warning, there's a scene with animal abuse. This is an emotional journey, especially for Elizabeth, and you can feel her emotions rolling off the page. I can easily read this again, and I hope there will be an audiobook in the future.
