A Mysterious egg changes Azra's life forever.

While recovering from a diving injury, Azra is sent to a reclusive crafter, but instead of supplies, he returns home with a mysterious egg.

But home is not the same. A terrible illness has ravaged his family, leaving Azra an orphan. Then, the yearly influx of new prisoners arrives, bringing a new level of danger to the Isle.

Powerful mages on the hunt for dragons and anyone associated with dragons arrive with powers never seen on Alcanz.

The egg hatches and Azra must face the consequences of defending a dragon.

This is a new and exciting coming-of-age, teen, sword and sorcery fantasy adventure series.

Great job building multiple characters. Not only kept my interest the entire time, about half way through I was already looking to see if there were more books in the series.

Great beginning of series

The overall story, it is really interesting. However, I almost stopped reading because of the electronic voice. If I had paid for this, I would have been upset. There's no inflection making it kind of hard to understand the story. It's almost as bad than a monotone reader. No distinction between characters.

The electronic voice.

Hated the computer voice though, other than that enjoyable. Wish they would stop with the AI voices. It's very frustrating it doesn't sound realistic.

Decent story

I really liked this story and it kept my interest. There were times when the story lagged, but for the most part I was very invested in what was going to happen next. My biggest complaint overall was with the AI mispronunciation of the title character's name. Sometimes, within three sentences, you would hear three pronunciations of his name! That being said, it was probably the best virtual voice narration that I have heard (which isn't saying much, tbh!) I will be listening to the next two installments, and hopefully will have at least as good, if not better, experience.

Great story, okay virtual voice
