Control. That’s where I excel.
Everything in my life is rigidly planned, nothing ever takes me by surprise, until her.
Wren Jacobs.
I swear the woman was put on earth to drive me insane. She's too young, too beautiful, my daughter's best friend, and one of my best friend’s daughters. In other words, completely off limits.
And for one weekend she's the art curator assigned to help me pick up my newest painting.
My only job is keep my hands off the forbidden woman almost twenty years my junior. Every whisper of Daddy Wilson that falls from her lips drives me closer to forgetting my rules and realizing this nightmare might be the fantasy I need for the night.
Even if one night could be enough, will everyone finding out destroy it all?

The story acknowledges how it appears to be strange that the MMC knew the MFC when she was young; but they went years without interacting and only when the MFC was an adult did they reconnect and their mutual attraction started. We also see how they balance each other and get along so well. So many people support them, but the author does a good job balancing their want for each other, the support of others, and the difficulty of having close friends/family being upset by the news (MMC's close friend is MFC father, and MFC is best friend with the MMC's daughter).
Jenni Bara does an amazing job creating complex characters, even challenging the way we view MCs from other books.
<start mild spoiler and opinion of character analysis> Avery's behavior before the wedding made me respect her less. She could be upset, but refusing to talk about the issue and then refusing to include her best friend was cold and selfish. She even dismissed their feelings despite them admitting how committed they were. MFC was always there for Avery and kept her relationship with Chris secret. MFC constantly supported and encouraged her best friend, and when the trouble came, Avery didn't rise to the challenge. Though the response was realistic, it made me like Avery less. I felt Avery was entitled and selfish. Literally everyone could see how good the MCs were and she just refused to accept it, talk/acknowledge it, and iced out her best friend on a day they talked about since they were young (Avery's wedding). Love means setting aside hurt feelings and working through difficulties. When this scene came up, it was hard to listen to and made me appreciate the MCs not shying away from their feelings despite some hostily. Shame on the other people who told them they would support them but then didn't intervene when Avery acted out. </end mild spoiler and opinion of character analysis> There is a HEA that is satisfying.
The "baby girl" and "daddy wilson" is a little weird. Even without the age gap, that type of pet name is not my thing, but to each their own. They don't make it seem creepy for them, but it's not my thing so it pulls me out of the story some. They don't play into the "daddy" and "baby" dynamic when intimate but they do enjoy the names. I think this is the only reason I have to take off point for my rating. If you don't mind this type of pet name, then it's easily 5/5 ⭐.
A little angst, a lot of emotion

Okay, let’s talk about Finding Out by Jenni Bara because I’m OBSESSED. This book had everything I love—age gap romance, forbidden vibes, and a swoony, confident male lead who just gets it. Tom "Daddy Wilson" and Wren Jacobs' story hooked me from page one, and I couldn't put it down.
Wren has been teasing Tom for years, calling him "Daddy Wilson" and shamelessly flirting, but Tom has been seeing her differently for a long time too. He’s kept his feelings in check because, well… she's his daughter’s best friend. But when the two of them end up stuck together on a work trip to NYC, all bets are off. The tension? Off. The. Charts.
What really sold me on this book, though, is Tom. He’s not some wishy-washy guy who doesn’t know what he wants. He’s mature, grounded, and totally swoon-worthy. The way he calls Wren "baby girl" (and makes it work)? Yeah, I’m officially ruined for anyone else. Normally, that nickname isn’t my thing, but coming from Tom? I’m a puddle, just like Wren.
Now, I have to talk about THE “finding out” moment. When their secret comes out during Avery’s pre-wedding festivities, I was completely caught off guard. Tom is so calculated, so intentional, and always in control, so the way it all unraveled was a total shocker—but in the most exciting way. I was kicking my feet in the air and squealing as everything started to unfold. It was thrilling and chaotic in the best way possible, and wow, Jenni did not disappoint.
The family dynamics added so much depth to the story, especially Avery’s reaction. I knew she’d be upset, but I wasn’t expecting her to freeze them out like that. It felt so real, though, and it made the eventual resolution even sweeter.
This book wasn’t even supposed to exist in Jenni’s Boston Revs Three Outs series, and yet it feels like the perfect addition. It’s like their story demanded to be told, and I am so here for it. If you’re into age-gap romances with forbidden vibes and loads of heart, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
Oh, and if anyone knows where I can find a real-life Daddy Wilson, let me know, okay? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
