Kate Nash, a St. Louis detective turned private investigator, becomes the central figure in a multiple-homicide case - one of the victims was her husband. Now her friend and old college roommate, Lizzy Smith, is missing and presumed kidnapped.

As the mystery unfolds, Kate realizes whoever is behind the killings is out to destroy her and everyone close to her. Will they succeed?

The story was engaging, but not anything special. The narrator was awful. Her voice never showed emotion, everything sounded the same - anger, fear, excitement all sounded the same. Her Canadian showed a lot, and wasn’t believable for a St Louis native.

A new author for me and I found it very enjoyable and good narration. The plot had good twists to it and good style of writing. Well done. Given audio for my voluntary review

This is the second book I have listened to of this author's and I have to say she is very good at writing mysteries that you are unable to guess who is guilty until the book is just about finished just how I like a book to be. There is also a sweet dog in the book for animal lovers!

That’s the way I like it. I enjoyed Kate, her partner Amy and good friend Ryan. Susan’s writing kept me in the middle of the action. I held my breath with each threat to my friends’ lives and I don’t think I calmed down until the stunning resolution. An entertaining read.

The action in this Kate Nash mystery never stops to catch it’s breath

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! The characters were well-written and believable, and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who the murderer was as Kate and her friends pieced the clues together. Loved the surprise ending!

Enjoyable!
