Alistair, Ghost, Yekong, and the others return, and they are on a mission, not like the one the Blue's Brothers had (y'know, from God), but to kill someone in that power range. Caldwell is a monster storyteller that knows that when the reader expects you to pull a knife, you should whip to a bazooka and blow their minds in a really gorey mushy way. Such fun. Amazing action scenes, more character development, and the world-building is reaching Death Star levels.

Once more, Mr. Cool himself, AC Oliver, the verbal rogue, picks your ears like one of Fagin's street urchins. (That's a freaking clever Oliver reference if I do say so myself!) He practically punches you in the face as fists fly and makes it feel like you need to flee when danger rears its petty head. Keep up the good work, sir!

If you are a fan of Urban Fantasy, then this book is for you. If you're not, you'll still like this series because of its clever writing and narration. Warning, this book has so much toughness and violence that your ears might get covered in blood, so if you don't like arse-whippings and bad guys getting their comeuppance, then avoid this book at all costs, ya pansy. Just listening to this made my chest hairier.
