There are different methods of worship. Modern way is to pray for forgiveness and to perform several rites- fixed systems of prayers, and ask God to provide us happiness, and fulfilment of our wishes. We are also asking to save us from Hell. so, the intermediary between us and God is kept happy.
Would you accept that Vaidik system of worship was quite different. It was mostly without anyone in between us and God. Upanishads explained that method known as Upasana. It consisted of continuous or uninterrupted meditation on Brahma, or God.
Actually, several pearls of wisdom known as Brahm Vidyas are described in major Upanishads. They are discussing one or other attributed of Brahma, and are used by seekers for Upasana, or meditation to attain non-duality with Brahm. With the great grace of Brahm, Author has first time presented a detailed narration of thirty-five Brahm Vidyas from different Upanishads in his three-book series on "Eternal Meditation Principles: Brahm Vidyas".
While Kishore had explained different stages of Yoga, finally explaining the way of meditation or Upasana in the first part of the series, he had narrated in detail twenty two Brahm Vidyas in first two parts of the series. He had also discussed the uniqueness of the method of prayer of God through meditation process, and the meaning of duality vs non-duality.
Besides the Upanishads, Bhagavad-Gita is considered the best way to understand the link between Atma and Paramatma, or Brahma, or Ishwar, or God. The teachings of Bhagavan Shri Krishna from the Gita on Brahm Vidya has been discussed along with the link of different types of Yoga in this book in very clear terms.
The way to attain oneness with Brahm through Upasana, or meditation as per the Yoga systems has also been discussed. One may consider the wonderful explanation of concepts of Gita as a bonus. All the eighteen chapters have been divided into three parts of six chapters each describing Aatma, Brahm, and the way to attain oneness.
Each of the Brahm Vidya included in this third part of series of books is important individually. The important ones are Nachiketa Vidya, Gayatri Vidya, Balaki Vidya, Satya Gyan Anant Vidya, Samvarga Vidya, and Anand maya vidya.
The last chapter, the conclusion, explains beautifully why Krishna said that one should never leave his work while in society, and even if one renounces all work, Yagya, Tapas, and Dana should never be renounced. Otherwise, one cannot succeed in reaching one-ness with Brahma.
So, plunge into this deep stream of Upasana with the Author. Even if you have not been able to read first two parts of the series, the bliss attained by one-ness with Brahma will be yours.
