Missing Persons Detective Everleigh Beckett and her P.I. partner Isaac Stern have a habit of solving cases in time for a Christmas miracle, but this year, the case is one that may put Isaac in the crosshairs.

Isaac Stern was once a rising star in the Sacramento police department, but he walked away from his career when seventeen-year-old Natalie Mathews died in a sleazy motel outside of Albuquerque. Her abductor was never found, but that doesn’t mean Isaac ever stopped looking.

When he gets a tip that a man named Atlas Finn might be operating again on social media, attempting to lure girls into sex trafficking, Isaac goes on the offensive, but Atlas Finn also wants revenge on the man who relentlessly pursued him for eight years, forcing him underground.

Will Isaac discover Atlas’s real identity before it’s too late? Or will the case that has haunted Isaac for so many years become his last?

I totally enjoyed the book as well as all of Hamilton and Hazen books. I really enjoyed the characters of Everliegh and Issac as they track down murders. Only complaint with the Christmas miracle series, have to wait a whole year for next one and too short!

Great Team

I have loved each and every book in this series so there is no surprise I crawled into their world cheering for the wins and sad for the losses in this book too. There were a few things I did not see coming so the shock value was worth it! I love that the narrator brings the story to life with her transitions in her voice for each character is right on point. It makes me forget there is only 1 narrator performing this book! I don't know how she pulled off the killer's raspy voice but it was very believable. One child dead and a sister left to grieve. Things take a drastic turn in the home much to the other daughter's dismay. No social media, what? It's time to make a teenage move. Unbenounced to her it actually helps Evvie in the end. OMG, the epilog was great. I'm not saying anything else about it because I don't want to ruin your delight. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it extremely enjoyable. A tip leads Isaac to his past and the reason he gave up being a cop. As Christmas approaches, a threat to Isaac and his family and the family of a girl murdered by the murder has everyone on lock down and missing all the season’s special occasions. Will Everleigh and Isaac find this killer before it’s too late. This combination of author and narrator never fails to draw you into their world.

Escaping Enemies, the latest installment in the A Christmas Mystery series, is nothing short of captivating. The stakes have never been higher as Detective Everleigh Beckett and PI Isaac Stern confront a case that hits close to home. The tension and emotional depth kept me hooked from start to finish.

M.L. Hamilton continues to deliver a masterful blend of suspense and heart, and Kelley Hazen’s narration brings every moment vividly to life. The pacing is perfect, and the character development shines, making this story feel both thrilling and deeply personal.

Fans of the series will not be disappointed—this is a powerful addition that leaves you wondering if another Christmas miracle is possible. Highly recommended!
