Pain burned through my veins like wildfire, electrifying each nerve ending and searing through every thought I had ever had. I was sure this was how I would die, and I wished it would hurry up.—Charles Walsh.

Deep in the woods a darkness stirs and impossible, horrifying, creatures exist. Deputy Charles Walsh had always held a healthy level of skepticism. However, when he meets Eric Linnaeus, a man marked by the fae and trained to kill, he is forced to accept a new reality. Facing supernatural creatures and cursed objects, he discovers that everything is not as it seems. If he hopes to survive, he must learn from Linnaeus, yet he can’t help but wonder—is this man’s word to be trusted?

Book one in the dark fantasy horror series Eric Linnaeus.

I didn't expect it to be this good, I won't lie. The story is really interesting, and I love seeing how Eric Linnaeus has changed, and hearing more about his backstory made me very sad because he has such a compelling backstory. I had a few good laughs here and there from how light-hearted the characters would interact after such serious moments. Charles is probably one of my favourite characters in the series and I hope others interested in this book will see this review and give it a listen. The story is great and so is the narrator. The narrator brings life into the characters and makes a clear distinction between who is voicing the chapter.

GIVE IT A LISTEN! It won't disappoint.

My New Favourite Book and Audiobook.

I really like how the narrator changed his voice and accent so much to match the characters. I also love how the author wrote the story in different perspectives, sometimes telling the same part of the story from two different people's point of view. It was a lovely story with a lovely presentation. I can't wait to listen to the next book.

I loved this proformance and the way it was written

It was very satisfying to see the narrator do different voices for every character. I love this story and its characters, so it’s wonderful to see the characters presented correctly (For what I imagined). Overall the experience a 5/5

Amazing performance and Story

The story gripped me from the start. The narration was done so well that I could tell the characters apart despite only one narrator. It was an interesting story, full of whit, horror and mystery. It ended on a cliffhanger so I'm rushing to book 2.

the narrator really gave each character their own voice!

The way the story was told from different perspectives helped to paint a more complete story while still leaving many questions in its wake. I hope for the next in the series to be added soon but I may just have to buy the physical copy instead.
