Fake dating your worst enemy—what could possibly go wrong? An enemies-to-lovers, paranormal lesbian romance that proves love can outfox anyone.

Ever since shape-shifters revealed their existence to the world, tensions between humans and Wrasa have been dangerously high. To improve their public image, the Wrasa council comes up with a bold plan: a fake relationship between one of their own and Faith MacAllister, the human daughter of their most vocal enemy.

Tala Peterson, an aloof fox-shifter with the attitude of an alpha wolf, is anything but thrilled to pose as Faith's mate. She doesn't trust her one bit—and rightfully so, as Faith has her own agenda. Their flirty banter is strictly for show, and if Tala finds Faith's scent annoyingly irresistible, it's only because of the mate scent their scientists concocted.

But when the wolf pack that raised Tala insists she bring her new mate home for a visit, the fake lovers are forced to not only share a bed but also to confront old prejudices. Soon, Faith faces a difficult choice: Should she keep spying on the Wrasa for her father, or can she trust Tala and her kind?

Contains mature themes.

Cliffhangers are the bane of my existence. BUT, other than that, it was totally worth the credit. If you enjoyed the books in this series, you will not be disappointed. It just sucks the conclusion comes in March. Jae is such a fantastic storyteller, and Abby never misses. what more can I say?

I HATE waiting :(

3.5 stars. I might round up depending on how the second book makes me feel in taking them as a whole story, but for some annoying reason, it doesn’t come out until the end of March, so I will wait until my pre-order arrives. I have enjoyed the other books in this series for the most part. (I def liked the Kelsey/Rue one much more than the Griffin/Jorie one, iirc). I would so far put this one in the middle of those two on enjoyment scale. The potential is there and the setup that we get in this one has me excited to see where it goes in the second book, particularly with everything that happens in the last third of the book with Tala’s family. I still find the Rasa (sp? I have listened to them all, so tbh I don’t know the spelling of a lot of the made up words) terms to be incredibly annoying and they absolutely take me out of the story. (Great hunter is… fine? But things like “wolf poop” instead of saying shit or smth and calling all kids pups and cubs, especially when they cannot shift?? Is, just personally really irritating and, for me, has never once flowed well). Excited to see where it goes.

Great start, excited to see where the sequel goes

With its mixture of heavy topics with upsetting emotions and cute loving family moments, I really enjoyed the emotional depth that this story provides. The narrator as always was fantastic and only added to my enjoyment of the book.

I really enjoyed it

Wow, just wow! Jae and Abby Craden you have outdone yourselves with this awesome, exciting story with loads of twists and turns. Wrasa/shapeshifters and humans are careening towards a dangerous collision. The MCs begin as polar opposites: Tala/wrasa and Faith/human, whose father is the head of the shapeshifter hate group, HASS-Humans Against Shape Shifters (has is German word for hatred, a nod to the author’s language). Tala and Faith both chip away at their deeply ingrained presupposing prejudices about each other. Who would have thought they’d both bare the weight of the fate of both their species?! I can’t wait to get the next installment of the story.

Buckle in for a wild and bumpy ride!
