It began with a breakthrough. In interspecies communication. Leading both John Clay and Alison Shaw through a series of startling discoveries and life-altering revelations. Divulging who we really are as a species. Why we are here...and who is here with us. And the greatest lesson of all, that our brains are not as rare and unique as humans had assumed. But rather just one of three brains between three extraordinary species. All influenced by a fluke of evolution and something that should never have existed on Earth in the first place. Something we are now finally on the verge of understanding.

It will take more than just one brain to do it. More than just one species. And courage from all three. Courage in the face of those still trying to stop Clay and Alison before their stranglehold on the world is lost. But Clay and his team already know the truth. That there is no courage without fear, and no victory without sacrifice.

With the search for the Lost Ark, this book reminds me of some of James Rollins' books. The characters are well written and the story flows at a rapid pace. I was a little surprised at how little DeeAnn Draper and her apes, Dulce and Dexter, were included in this book but I thought there was plenty of action without them. I like the whole concept of this series involving humans learning to communicate with other species and thought it was really well handled. I have to admit that I am sorry to see this series end (at least I assume this was the end) but look forward to other books from this author.
One negative comment: I feel like the narrator, Scott Brick, a very experienced narrator, was far too emotionally "over the top" in his narration. At times I felt like I was listening to a soap opera rather than an action novel.

A Terrific Conclusion to the Series

As always the book was a nail biter. I'm sorry that the series is over but the new series is going to be great.

I’ve read Michael Grumley since his first book and had contact with him about the dolphins. Being from Florida I grew up in the tropical waters and often entertained by the dolphins as they would swim along the sides of the boat.
You could always feel them. My dad was Native American with a ‘sixth’ sense with humans and animals alike maybe I inherited some of it.
Able to “speak” the language of most animals esp

Interesting as always
